We have a new NSW server on a trail a link mercness.nsw.aus.ausirc.net! Big thanks to MerCuryRising and Mercness Enterprises for providing the server. Wednesday 28th of Februrary 11:00pm - SiliconAITaZet is back, so we finally have a new stats system and website, it lacks some of what the old TaZet had, but that should be added over time. There are also a few bugs, the easiest one to see is the country the website you are in on, the GeoIP code seems to be almost 100% wrong :) I'll be testing it out for a week or so, then you'll be able to request to have TaZet if your channel! Check it out at http://stats.ausirc.net Monday 26th of Februrary 12:30am - SiliconAIJust a quick update to say a few things, we're now running a patched version of the ircd, so they've now stopped crashing, session limits should now really be 3 and not 2 and the USA server could be down for up to another month untill the OS is upgraded, this is because it's running OS/software that is too old for the new ircd to work with. Monday 19th of Februrary 10:40pm - SiliconAIIt looks like a lot of emails were lost due to people setting email addresses on a linked nick and not the master nick, I'll go through the db by hand this week and do another round of emails if I find any. We've also suffering from a crash bug in the new ircd, I've submitted a bug report and a fix is already in svn, just waiting QA testing. Monday 19th of Februrary 1:45am - SiliconAIEmails have been sent out with a new nickserv password to those users who had an email address set, make sure you check in your spam folders if you have spam checking on your email account like hotmail etc does. ChanServ channel passwords will be reset when requested by the founder of the channel who is identified to NickServ. Please make all requests in #ausirc and we'll get to your request as soon as we can, this might take a few days, as we all have jobs etc. If you did not get an email with a new NickServ password for your nick, I'm sorry, but we have no way of verifying who you are, so you'll have to wait for your nick to expire. Sunday 18th of Februrary 4:00am - SiliconAIHave new ircd and services up and running with imported services database. However due to the forced upgrade to the new services, only 249 nicks have email addresses set and 463 nicks have no email address set. This means a lot of people are going to lose their nicks, as we were no way near ready for the upgrade, the original plan was to have a few more weeks of notifying users and allowing them to set an email address so we could email out a new nickserv password to them. Friday 16th of Februrary 9:45pm - SiliconAISpent many hours recovering the data off the dead HDD. Friday 16th of Februrary 9:45am - SiliconAIDiscovered server HDD had died is a horrible kind of way (lost journal, superblock, partition table etc). Thursday 15th of Februrary 4:55pm - SiliconAIMain server got dropped and had all cables ripped out while still running -_-. |
Monday 26th of Februrary 12:40am - SiliconAI Channel modes +a and +q explained Note that channel modes +q and +a do not infer channel mode +o. Channel mode +o is seperate, therefore allowing you to protect a user who is voiced or halfopped if you wish. * Channel mode +q: This channel mode marks a user as the channel founder. As only servers may set mode +q. A channel should normally have only one +q user. A +q user is protected from kicks and deops, and also from deprotects by any other users. * Channel mode +a: This channel mode marks a user as protected. This means they may not be kicked or deopped. Only a +q user or services may give or take away channel mode +a under normal circumstances, or kick a +a user.Monday 19th of Februrary 10:40pm - SiliconAI New user modes Mode Effect x - Enables or disables cloaking of user hostmask.
